The short version

Our own pages don’t set cookies, and we don’t run analytics or advertising tags. There is no embedded video player and no social widget, and our fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font network.

The exception is booking. Online reservations run on Oracle Hospitality’s booking system, which opens in a window over this page. So that the booking button can open it, every page loads a small piece of booking software from Oracle. When you open the booking window, Oracle sets cookies to keep your booking session working, and what you enter there goes to Oracle and to us so that we can make your reservation.

The previous version of this site carried an analytics tag and a reCAPTCHA widget. Both are gone.

What we collect

What you type into a form. If you send an enquiry we receive the name, email address, telephone number, dates and message you provide, so that we can reply to you.

We do not build a profile from it, we do not sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

What we do not collect

We do not record your IP address for analytics, we do not fingerprint your browser, and we do not track you across other websites.

The booking window

Online reservations on this site are provided by Oracle Hospitality’s OPERA Cloud Booking Engine.

• On every page, your browser downloads Oracle’s booking software so that the booking button can open the window. As with any request to a website, that tells Oracle your IP address and that you are visiting this site.
• When you open the booking window, Oracle sets cookies that keep your booking session working. If your browser blocks them, the window may not load, and you can book with us by telephone on (805) 735-7731 instead.
• What you enter in the booking window — your name, email address, phone number, home address, stay dates, any special requests, and card details to guarantee the reservation — goes to Oracle and to us in order to make and hold your reservation, and to send you a confirmation.
• Oracle monitors how the booking window performs, using a performance measurement service from Akamai, the network Oracle uses to deliver it.
• Oracle’s own privacy terms apply to what happens inside the booking window.

Bookings made through a travel agent or a booking site reach us through those companies, and their own privacy terms apply to what happens on their side.

Where enquiries go

Form submissions are delivered by email to the hotel, and to Oceanic Enterprises’ sales team when the enquiry is about a group. They are kept in those mailboxes and nowhere else.

Your rights

Under California law you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be deleted, and not be treated differently for asking. Write to reservations@ocairnsinnandsuites.com and we will answer.
